26.the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. 27.To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

SUMMARY

The apostle Paul says in today's text that Christ in the saints is “the mystery" that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. If you change this to a statement about saints, it means that saints are those who have been newly created by God through the blood of Jesus Christ to reveal Jesus Christ who is “the mystery" that has been kept hidden for ages and generations. 사도 바울은 오늘 본문에서 성도 안에 계신 그리스도는 만세와 만대로부터 감춰져왔던 ‘비밀’인데 이제는 그의 성도들에게 나타났다고 말한다. 이것을 성도에 관한 진술로 바꾸면 성도란 만세와 만대로부터 감춰져왔던 비밀인 예수 그리스도를 드러내기 위하여 예수 그리스도의 피로 말미암아 하나님에 의해 새롭게 지음을 받은 자들이라는 의미이다.

Therefore, the purpose of their existence is only to reveal what Christ is like. This does not mean that they must introduce who Christ is by knowing Christ intellectually and possessing Christ personally. Rather, it means that the fruits of their lives, the objects of their own joy, are found as the disgusting monsters and trash that killed Jesus, so that they live lives of rejoicing and praising only the glorious abundance of Christ's sacrifice and His forgiveness. 따라서 이들의 존재 목적은 오직 그리스도의 어떠하심을 드러내는 것이다. 이 말은 그들이 그리스도를 지식적으로 알고 그리스도를 인격적으로 소유함으로써 그리스도가 어떠한 분이신지를 소개해야한다 뜻이 아니다. 그것은 오히려 자신들의 기쁨의 대상이었던 그들의 삶의 열매들이 예수님을 죽인 혐오스런 괴물과 쓰레기로 발견됨으로써 그들은 그리스도의 희생과 그분의 용서의 영광스런 풍부만을 찬양하고 기뻐하는 삶을 살게 된다는 것을 의미한다.

The reason this is the mystery is explained in 1 Corinthians as follows : "However, as it is written: 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him'--but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.(1 Cor. 2:9-10)".이것이 비밀인 이유를 고린도전서에서는 다음과 같이 설명한다. : 기록된바 하나님이 자기를 사랑하는 자들을 위하여 예비하신 모든 것은 눈으로 보지 못하고 귀로도 듣지 못하고 사람의 마음으로도 생각지 못하였다 함과 같으니라 오직 하나님이 성령으로 이것을 우리에게 보이셨으니 성령은 모든 것 곧 하나님의 깊은 것이라도 통달하시느니라(고전2:9-10).

In spite of these circumstances, man seeks to possess their own faith that can be understood by themselves, whether even by bringing Christ down from heaven or by bring Christ up from the dead(Rom. 10:6-7). This is the misunderstanding and ignorance of the humans who have been deceived by the devil. 형편이 이러함에도 불구하고 인간은 그리스도를 하늘로부터 모셔 내려서라도 혹은 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 모셔 올려서라도 자기에게 납득되는 믿음을 자기가 소유하고자 한다(롬10:6-7). 이것은 악마에게 속임을 당한 인간들의 자신들의 처지에 대한 오해와 무지의 소치다.

Because humans are already dead, abandoned by God, cursed, and have been fixed to be thrown into hell. Thus, nothing good can come out of the dead that relates to life ; the reason that the Lord's people, the saved could be produced is because of the Christ, who God raised from the dead. That is, because of his sacrifice, his willing, and his victory ; Christ entered the strong man(the devil)'s house and tied him up and carried off his possessions(Mat. 12:29). 왜냐하면 인간은 이미 죽은 자들이며 하나님에 의해 버림받았고 저주 받았으며 지옥에 던져지는 것이 확정되었다. 따라서 죽은 자들에게서는 생명과 관련된 그 어떤 의로움도 나올 수 없다. 따라서 구원받은 주님의 백성이 생산될 수 있었던 것은 하나님께서 죽은 자들 가운데서 유일하게 살려내신 그리스도로 말미암음이다. 즉 강한 자(악마)의 집에 들어가 그 세간을 늑탈해 나오신(마12:29) 그리스도의 희생과 원함과 승리 때문이다.

Believing in Jesus is not an intellectual agreement and acceptance of what humans can understand and expect. Such things rather attack Christ, the mystery of God, and make people pretend to be believers. Thus, those whose mystery has made known have a hole in the center of their own faith, hope, love, pride and righteousness, which is the same as Jacob's being wrenched when the source of his pride and power was been struck by God : “When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob's hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man..... The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel, and he was limping because of his hip(Gen. 32:25-31).” 예수님을 믿는 다는 것은 인간이 납득할 수 있고 예상할 수 있는 것에 대한 지적인 동의와 수용이 아니다. 그런 것들은 오히려 하나님의 비밀인 그리스도를 공격하게 하며 자기 자신을 믿는 자로 연출하게 한다. 따라서 이 비밀이 알려진 자들은 자신들의 믿음과 소망과 사랑과 자부심과 의로움의 중앙에 구멍이 뚫려버리는데 이것은 그의 자부심과 힘의 근원이 가격당한 야곱의 위골과 같다. : “그 사람이 자기가 야곱을 이기지 못함을 보고 야곱의 환도뼈를 치매 야곱의 환도뼈가 그 사람과 씨름할 때에 위골되었더라.......그가 브니엘을 지날 때에 해가 돋았고 그 환도뼈로 인하여 절었더라(창32:25-31).”

In order for the mystery of God to be disclosed to Jacob, Jacob had to confront the God who came to him, and he had to wrestle with that God, and the socket of Jacob's hip had to be wrenched and he had to spend the rest of his life relying on his staff. Hebrews 11:21 says, "By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph's sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff." 하나님의 비밀이 야곱에게 알려지기 위해서는 야곱은 자기를 찾아오신 하나님과 맞닥뜨려야 했고 그에게는 그 하나님과 씨름하는 일이 벌어져야 했으며 그로 인해 야곱의 환도뼈는 위골되어야 했고 그 결과 그는 여생을 지팡이에 의존해야 했다. 히브리서 11장21절은 “믿음으로 야곱은 죽을 때에 요셉의 각 아들에게 축복하고 그 지팡이 머리에 의지하여 경배하였으며”라고 말씀한다.

Jacob's staff is like a trace of the event that transformed Jacob into Israel. It was to keep Jacob in the position of the weak, the incompetent, the dependent, and the sinner whose center of power was wrenched by God while wrestling with God. But, on the one hand, it is also a sign of those loved by God, those who were blessed by God, and those who have God's mercy. At the time of his death, Jacob relied on this staff to convey the mystery of God's covenant to his grandchildren in a way of blessing. 야곱의 지팡이는 야곱을 이스라엘로 변화시킨 그 사건의 흔적같은 것이다. 그것은 야곱을 약한 자와, 무능한 자, 의존적인 자, 그리고 하나님과 씨름하다가 하나님에 의해 그의 힘의 중앙이 위골된 죄인의 자리를 줄곧 유지하게 만들어주는 것이었다. 그러나 그것은 한편으로는 하나님께 사랑받은 자, 하나님께 복을 받은 자, 그리고 하나님의 긍휼을 입은 자의 표시이기도 했다. 야곱은 죽을 때에 이 지팡이에 의지하여 하나님의 언약의 비밀을 그의 손자들에게 축복의 방식으로 전수해주었던 것이다.

The reason God kept Christ hidden is to reveal Him only to His people. Christ decided to be the object of being found for his own people : “I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me. To a nation that did not call on my name, I said, 'Here am I, here am I.'(Is. 65:1)” 하나님이 그리스도를 감추어두셨던 이유는 그분을 자기 백성에게만 드러내기 위함이다. 그리스도는 자기 백성에게 찾아냄의 대상이 되기로 결정하셨다. : “나는 나를 구하지 아니하던 자에게 물음을 받았으며 나를 찾지 아니하던 자에게 찾아냄이 되었으며 내 이름을 부르지 아니하던 나라에게 내가 여기 있노라 내가 여기 있노라 하였노라(사 65:1)”

The reason why God produces those whom God recognizes and those who recognize God is because He wants to see them face to face and live together with them forever. The Song of Songs introduces God's ardent love for his people as a bridegroom's love for his bride : “His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me(Song. 2: 6).” “My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely(Song. 2:14).” “My lover is mine and I am his(Song. 2:16).” 하나님이 알아보시고 하나님을 알아보는 자들을 하나님이 생산하시는 이유는 그들과 서로 얼굴을 맞대고 그들과 영원히 함께 살기를 원하셨기 때문이다. 아가서는 하나님의 자기 백성에 대한 절절한 사랑을 신랑이 신부에 대한 사랑으로 소개한다. : “그가 왼손으로 내 머리에 베게하고 오른손으로 나를 안는구나(아 2: 6)” “바위 틈 낭떠러지 은밀한 속에 있는 나의 비둘기야 나로 네 얼굴을 보게 하라 네 소리를 듣게 하라 네 소리는 부드럽고 네 얼굴은 아름답구나(아 2:14)” “나의 사랑하는 자는 내게 속하였고 나는 그에게 속하였구나(아 2:16)”

This is the confession of those favored by God like this to the Lord : “Lord, why do you disclose to a wretch sinner like me the mystery kept hidden for ages and generations?” There is nothing to fear for those who confess this way. These people appreciate and rejoice when they are presented with evidence that they are sinners. They have no reason to be depressed. This is because it is to participate in the glorious riches of this mystery. 이런 사랑을 받은 자들이 주께 드리는 고백은 이것이다. : “주님, 어찌하여 저 같은 비열한 죄인에게 만세와 만대로부터 옴으로 감추어진 비밀을 나타내시나이까?” 이렇게 고백하는 자들에게는 두려울 게 없다. 이런 자들은 자신이 죄인이라는 증거를 제시받을 때 고마워하고 기뻐한다. 그들에게는 우울할 이유가 없다. 그것이 이 ‘비밀의 영광의 풍성함’에 참여하는 것이 되기 때문이다.
