28.We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. 29.To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.

SUMMARY

In today's text, we must not miss out that “being perfect” mentioned by the apostle Paul is “being perfec” in Christ. As his confession, "To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me" suggests, this "being perfect" here is not the result originated from man but the result of Christ's activity in the saints. 오늘 본문에서 사도 바울이 언급한 ‘완전함’은 그리스도 안에서 ‘완전함’임을 놓치지 말아야 한다. “나도 내 속에서 능력으로 역사하시는 이의 역사를 따라 힘을 다하여 수고하노라”고 하는 그의 고백이 시사해주듯이 여기 이 ‘완전함’은 성도 안에서 역사하시는 그리스도의 활동의 결과물이지 인간에게서 나온 인간 활동의 결과물이 아니다.

Therefore, perfection in Christ reveals the greed, desire, selfishness, arrogance and ignorance of man in his own pursuit of perfection, and declares these men as those under God's wrath and judgment. It also makes them completely subordinate to Christ, making them see themselves as incompetent, impossible and nothing. 따라서 그리스도 안의 완전함은 독자적으로 자신의 완전함을 추구하는 경향과 행위 속에 내포되어있는 인간의 탐심과 욕망과 이기심과 교만과 무지를 드러내고 이런 자들을 하나님의 진노와 심판 아래 있는 자로 선언한다. 또한 그것은 그리스도 안에 있는 자들로 하여금 자신들을 무능자와 불가능한 자와 아무것도 아닌 자로 보게 하면서 그들을 전적으로 그리스도께 종속되어있게 한다.

On the other hand, those who pursue their own perfection have no choice but to live by proving their excellence in everything. In other words, they constantly want to prove to the outside world that they are valuable beings who should not die. These people don't know what 'death' is. Because death is something that cannot be known without the intervention of the law of God. 반면에 자기 자신의 완전함을 추구하는 자들은 매사에 자기의 우수함을 증명하는 식으로 살아갈 수밖에 없다. 즉 그들은 자신들은 죽어서는 안 되는 가치 있는 존재라는 것을 끊임없이 외부에 증명하고 싶어 한다. 이런 사람들은 ‘죽음’이 무엇인지를 모른다. 왜냐하면 ‘죽음’이란 하나님의 법의 개입 없이는 알 수가 없는 것이기 때문이다.

Only “Jehovah's law” is perfect (Psalm 19:7), and only “Jehovah’s law” is good. Since the law was given by God to his people, it does not stop with presenting commandments, but itself reveals the purpose of the law and serves as the original function of the law. ‘여호와의 율법’만이 완전하고(시19:7) ‘여호와의 율법’만이 선하다. 율법은 하나님으로부터 자기 백성에게 주어진 것이기에 계명을 제시하는 것으로 그치는 것이 아니라 자체적으로 율법의 취지를 드러내며 율법 본래의 기능을 한다.

In other words, “For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death. So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good. Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment sin might become utterly sinful. We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin(Rom. 7:11-14).”즉, “죄가 기회를 타서 계명으로 말미암아 나를 속이고 그것으로 나를 죽였는지라 이로 보건대 율법도 거룩하며 계명도 거룩하며 의로우며 선하도다 그런즉 선한 것이 내게 사망이 되었느뇨 그럴 수 없느니라 오직 죄가 죄로 드러나기 위하여 선한 그것으로 말미암아 나를 죽게 만들었으니 이는 계명으로 말미암아 죄로 심히 죄되게 하려 함이니라 우리가 율법은 신령한 줄 알거니와 나는 육신에 속하여 죄 아래 팔렸도다(롬 7:11-14).”

Simply put, human death is based on the perfection of the law. God needed us humans to prove the goodness of the law, the perfection of the law, and the rightness of God's actions through the medium of the law. Israel was created according to this purpose of God. 쉽게 말해서, 인간의 죽음은 율법의 완전함에 의거한 것이다. 율법의 선함과 율법의 완전함과 율법을 매개로 한 하나님의 조치의 옳음을 증명하기위해 하나님은 우리 인간이 필요하셨다. 이 같은 하나님의 취지에 따라 만들어진 나라가 바로 이스라엘이다.

God gave the law to Israel through Moses and made them perished by the curse of the law, and left only the law in the place where they were destroyed. This is the activity of 'God's perfection'. However, humans are ignorant of the spirit of the law, or the purpose of the law, so they independently pursue their own perfection. They don't know why they shoul die. If they don't know the reason for death, this means they have no eternal life.하나님은 그 이스라엘에게 율법을 주셨고 율법의 저주에 의해 그들이 멸망되게 하셨고 그들이 소멸된 그 자리에 율법만을 남기셨다. 이것이 ‘하나님의 완전’의 활동이다. 하지만 인간들은 율법의 정신, 혹은 율법의 취지에 대해 무지하기에 독자적으로 자신의 완전을 추구한다. 그들은 자신들이 왜 죽어야하는 지를 모른다. 죽음의 이유를 모른다면 이것은 그들에게는 영생도 없다는 말이다.

Because the "complete life" comes only out of the "complete curse" (death). It is Jesus Christ who gave himself up to protect this principle of God. Jesus, whose the Word became flesh(John 1:14), that is, Jesus who became flesh as a vessel containing the law, died according to the curse of the law. Because Jesus is the only one who can reveal God's law as a complete body according to the purpose of the law. Galatians 3:13, “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree’” 왜냐하면 완전한 저주(죽음) 안에서만 완전한 생명이 나오기 때문이다. 하나님의 이 원리와 원칙을 보호하시려고 자신을 몸을 내어주신 분이시며 바로 예수 그리스도이시다. 말씀이 육신이 되신 예수님(요1:14), 즉 율법을 담는 그릇으로서 육신이 되신 예수님이 율법의 저주대로 죽으셨다. 예수님만이 하나님의 율법을 율법의 취지를 따라 완전체로 드러내실 수 있는 분이시기 때문이다. 갈라디아서 3:13, “그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 저주를 받은바 되사 율법의 저주에서 우리를 속량하셨으니 기록된바 나무에 달린 자마다 저주 아래 있는 자라 하였음이라”

Christ, the first fruit of resurrection, now powerfully works in his people to draw his people into the curse of the law and make them follow after the path that the Lord himself walked first. In the process, their human-centered view of salvation and their own misunderstanding of the “completeness” they have pursued are revealed. The case of the Samaritan woman in John 4 is an example.부활의 첫 열매되신 그리스도께서는 이제 자기 백성 속에서 능력으로 역사하시는데 그것은 자기 백성을 율법의 저주 속으로 끌어당겨 주님 자신이 먼저 걸으신 그 길을 그들로 하여금 따라오게 하려 함이다. 그 과정에서 그들의 인간중심의 구원관과 독자적으로 추구해온 ‘완전함’에 대한 잘못된 이해가 드러나게 된다. 요한복음 4장에 나오는 사마리아 여인의 경우가 그 실례에 해당된다.

When she came to draw water from the well as usual, Jesus led her into conversation by asking her for water. As the conversation progresses, the illusion of her pride related to her faith, the uselessness of the worship without the Spirit and truth, and the reality of the sinner's incompetence under the wrath of God and emptiness and lifelessness are known to her. In short, it turns out that her entire life was fake, trash, and nothing.일상대로 우물에 물을 길으러온 그녀에게 예수님은 물을 달라고 요청하심으로써 그녀를 대화로 이끌어 들이셨다. 대화가 점차 진행됨에 따라 신앙과 관련된 그녀의 자부심의 허상과 성령과 진리가 빠진 예배의 무용함과 하나님의 진노 아래 있는 죄인의 무능함과 공허와 생명 없음의 실상이 그녀에게 알려진다. 한마디로 그녀의 삶 전체가 가짜요, 쓰레기요, 아무것도 아니었음이 드러난다.

In the process, Jesus told her about her past as if it were Jesus' own memory. “you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” Her reaction proves that there was no intention of embarrassing her or condemning her. John 4:28-29, “Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, ‘Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?’” 그 과정에서 예수님은 그녀의 과거가 마치 예수님 자신의 기억인 것처럼 그녀에게 말씀해주셨다. “네가 남편 다섯이 있었으나 지금 있는 자는 네 남편이 아니니 네 말이 참되도다.” 거기에는 그녀를 부끄럽게 만들고자 하거나 그녀를 정죄하고자 하는 의도는 전혀 개입되어있지 않았음이 그녀의 반응으로 입증된다. 요4:28- 29, “여자가 물동이를 버려두고 동네에 들어가서 사람들에게 이르되 나의 행한 모든 일을 내게 말한 사람을 와 보라 이는 그리스도가 아니냐 하니”

In the end, Jesus spoke to her because she wanted to insert the "spring water of the Lord welling up to eternal life(John 4:14)" inside her, which she had never expected and had never imagined. This revealed that her past was not her own, but the Lord's, and it was also a procedure required to save her. 결국 예수님이 그녀에게 말을 건네셨던 것은 그녀가 기대한 적도 없고 그녀가 상상한 적도 없는 ‘그녀 안에서 영생하도록 솟아나는 주님의 샘물’을 그녀 안에 박아 넣기를 원하셨기 때문이다. 이로 보건데 그녀의 과거사는 독자적인 그녀 자신의 것이 아닌 주님의 것이었으며 또한 그것은 그녀를 구원하는데 요구되는 하나의 절차였음이 드러났다.

Just as the selection and transport of proteins in cells is caused by coincidences caused by cell activity regardless of the protein's own intentions, the saints no longer live for themselves because they were involved in "accidental" activities caused by the Lord's unilateral "unconditional" love. The reason why the saints have no choice but to call it a "incidence" is that they have made no contribution to this love. 세포 내의 단백질이 선별되고 운반되는 것이 단백질 자신의 의도와 무관하게 세포활동이 유발하는 우연에 의한 것이듯 성도가 더 이상 자신을 위한 삶을 살지 않게 되는 것은 자신들의 의도와 무관하게 주님의 일방적인 ‘무조건적’ 사랑이 유발하는 ‘우연’의 활동에 참여되었기 때문이다. 성도들의 입장에서 이것을 '우연'이라고 말할 수밖에 없는 이유는 자신들은 이 사랑에 어떠한 기여도 한 것이 없기 때문이다.

Those loved by the Lord for no reason are called “my flawless one” by the Lord(Song. 5:2/6:9). The Lord's will is “to be one” with them. 'Being one' is the embodiment of 'God's perfection'. John 14:20, “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” John 17:21, "that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” ‘이유 없이’ 주님께 사랑받는 자들은 주님의 의해 ‘나의 완전한 자’라고 불려진다(아 5:2/6:9). 주님의 뜻은 이들과의 ‘하나 됨’이다. ‘하나 됨’이 바로 ‘하나님의 완전’의구현체인 것이다. 요한복음 14:20, “그날에는 내가 아버지 안에, 너희가 내 안에, 내가 너희 안에 있는 것을 너희가 알리라” 요한복음 17:21, “아버지께서 내 안에, 내가 아버지 안에 있는 것 같이 저희도 다 하나가 되어 우리 안에 있게 하사 세상으로 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 믿게 하옵소서”

For this “oneness,” God's sacrifice according to the law comes into the saints. Jesus said to the leper he had cleansed, "See that you don't tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them" (Matthew 8:4). This command was the Lord's action according to Leviticus 14:2-7, and this sacrifice was to testify to Jesus Himself. 이 ‘하나 됨’을 위해서 성도 안으로 율법에 의거한 하나님의 희생제물이 들어오게 된다. 예수님은 자신이 깨끗케 하신 한 문둥병자에게 “삼가 아무에게도 이르지 말고 다만 가서 제사장에게 네 몸을 보이고 모세의 명한 예물을 드려 저희에게 증거 하라(마8:4)”고 하셨다. 이것은 레위기 14:2-7에 따른 주님의 조치였으며 이 희생제물은 예수님 자신을 증거 하는 것이었다.

In other words, a series of things that happen to get leprosy and happen to be clean from it is not a testament to their own perfection of the salvation, but to the perfection of the inserted law, the perfection of the Lord's sacrifice on the cross. Humans interfere with the perfection of this Lord, so the "sword of the gospel" that betrays themselves must always be stuck in the back of the saints. 즉 우연히 문둥병에 걸리고 우연히 문둥병에서 깨끗케 되는 일련의 일들은 성도 자신의 구원의 완전함을 증거 하기 위한 것이 아니라 삽입된 율법의 완성, 곧 십자가에서 이루어진 주님의 희생의 완전함을 증거 하기 위함이다. 인간들은 바로 이 주님의 완전함을 방해하기에 성도의 등에는 그들 자신을 배신하는 ‘복음의 칼’이 늘 꽂혀야 하는 것이다.
